January...seriously??

I think Savannah's trying it's hardest to make sure we regret the decision to move!!  January (except for two days) has had the most amazing weather.  It's hovering around 70 degrees and absolutely lovely.  For a family that dislikes cold weather, we couldn't be happier with Mother Nature and this temperate climate!!  When you walk out the door, the smell of confederate jasmine permeates the air and we can't get enough of being outside.  Did I mention this is JANUARY??!!

Yesterday we spent a couple of hours outdoors with Ella.  For the first leg, we walked around Ardsley Park and looked at all the gorgeous historic homes.  We love Ardsley and could spend hours combing the streets looking at all the beautiful homes.  It's the best free entertainment around (in my opinion) and we've been fortunate to live in the neighborhood so we walk a lot.  We have our favorite houses picked out and always wonder what the first families to live in these grand homes must have been like...the parties, drinking tea on the porch...so nostalgic! Ella doesn't like the bright sunlight during our walks, so I got back out her sunglasses!  She actually wore them most of the stroll.  Here's the hilarious part, when she wanted to check something out she'd pull the glasses down just below her eyes and take a look...Justin Beiber will model the look for you below below.   She seriously did this!

So anyway, Ella strolled through Ardsley park doing the Justin Beiber glasses dip.  Where does she come up with this stuff?? I mean what a cool cat, posing like Justin Beiber.  I wish we had gotten a picture of her actually pulling the glasses down and looking around!

After our walk, we took Ella's new wagon for a spin around the block.  She loved riding in the wagon and looked like such a "Big Girl"!  The comical part about that was that I put her sippy cup of water in the cup holder when left the house.  The whole time we were cruising around, she'd take the cup out of the cup holder, drink a few sips, and put it back.  We were shocked that she knew how to actually use the cup holder.  She's just a riot!! **Please ignore the fact Ella is wearing a Halloween onesie that is orange with hot pink polka dot pants...we all spent the day in our lounging clothes!

Today we headed to Tybee for the afternoon.  Ella loved crawling in the sand and loved the ocean breeze.  This was a big improvement over the last time she went for her 6 month photos...she just sat in the sand and cried.  This time she actually had FUN!!  She was obsessed with crawling after the seagulls and was totally mesmerized by them.  She loved running her hands through the sand and we all had so much fun.  We feel so blessed to be able to spend so much time together and are really enjoying all that having a one year old brings!

Discovering the sand and putting it on Daddy...
Hey Dad, have you ever seen this stuff before?

Chasing Seagulls...crawling that is.  She refused to
walk on the sand!

What a beautiful weekend!  It felt great to spend so much time outdoors as a family. As an added bonus, I thoroughly enjoyed getting some exercise after 2 long months of taking it easy!! What a beautiful winter in Savannah!! :)  It has us wondering, January...seriously??  We'll take it!
