In other news, we moved into our house November 17th. We are settling in slowly but surely. All the renovations look great and we couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. It's a terrific family home. We somehow even managed to have Thanksgiving and Christmas at our house this year...which was nothing short of a miracle.
Ella celebrated her 2nd Birthday on December 17th. She's 100% a two year old. We also had her birthday party on December 22nd...she had a blast. And then, of course, Christmas was on Tuesday. We had a great time filled with family and celebration. Ella was really into presents this year. It was really cute. All in all, lfve is crazy busy but good. Both girls are healthy. Both girls are happy. We couldn't be more thankful...they truly mean the world to us.
Can you believe that Ava Jane is 6 months already?? I never even got her birth announcement made and sent out...things were just too crazy. She is literally on the move and rolling around from point A to point B like she's been doing it her whole life. I wouldn't be surprised if she crawls next month...or takes off running. She is sweet and loving and truly captivates our hearts.
Ella is loving life and talking up a storm. She's been using some sentences even. She amazes us with all she knows and the way she embraces life. Ella is so wonderful. We love them both so much!! Even in the chaos of opening the practice and moving and everything else, the girls remain our first priority and being their parents is our most passionate responsibility...we're a little obsessed with the two of them!!
As for being business owners... it's been a wild ride. There are ups and downs and moments of when you are just flat out scared when it comes to opening and owning your own business. The days of Brent coming home and a family dinner talking about random things that happened that day have been replaced with talk of what we need to do to get more patients in the door or talking about whether or not I got in touch with an insurance company about a patient. Things have changed. This isn't going to be easy street-- but we're hopeful that our hard work and dedication will pay off. Herrin Pediatric Dentistry has had a GREAT first month and a half...don't get me wrong....but the road is long and we are very much creating our own path. We're learning as we go and hopeful we'll get where we need to be with patience and hard work.
People ask how things are going. The answer is, crazy ( I think I've way overused this word in this post...but it best describes things right now), but great! Great because we are so so blessed by our girls, each other, our family and friends, and the opportunities God has given us. Crazy, because starting your own business is NO JOKE. But, we will pray our way though this experience and know that God has a special plan for us and Herrin Pediatric Dentistry. Hope you all had a WONDERFUL Christmas and Holiday season. Blessings in 2013.
I've got lots of catch up blogging to do, so stay tuned!!
